Day 3: Addiction

Since Saturday, I have been crocheting like a crack head and into the wee hours of the morning at that. I attended church yesterday morning with 4 hours of sleep. You would think I would take a nap after church, but no. As soon as I got home, I was wide awake and full of energy. So what did I do? I looked up other stitches to learn. I can do a chain, single, double, slip stitch, half double, broom, soloman's knot, tanisian, and a cluster. Last night I made a flower dollie and a bow tie (found both patterns at http://creativeyarn.blogspot.com/2011/01/ciao-everybody.html). Made the tie thanks to my pastor who was wearing a bow tie his daughter made him from duck tape. Though it was festive, I thought I'd add on to his accessories. :)

I read a blog last night while I was looking for patterns for crocheting and stumbled upon one that said it crochet would be easier if I learned to knit first, due to it being a bit harder. I'm without the proper needles for knitting, but I have taken it upon myself to learn with, my one crochet needle and a slender pen. I know, I know....can I be any more obsessed? I don't know, but I think I like knitting better! It is a bit harder, especially since I have no coordination with my left hand whatsoever, but it is fairly simple. I can do a basic stitch as well as a purl. :) Though I'm using unorthodox tools, I think it's turning out well.  I've posted a picture with the flower dollie, bow tie, and small patch of knitting. I know they look sloppy and unprofessional, but I am extremely proud of my little projects. I woke up this morning thanking God for this new talent and gift He has provided me. I am very thankful to be able to say I work with my hands :)

By the way, I didn't crochet all day yesterday. I did go see the new addition to Pirates of the Caribbean, in 3D! It was awesome :)
